This 8-hour open enrollment course is designed for supervisory personnel who need to be aware of

the dangers of working at heights. It is for individuals responsible for pre-planning, selecting, and

implementing fall protection systems at their work site.

Fall Protection Training Course Overview

This comprehensive training program is intended to provide instruction on several topics that cover working at heights for entry level participants.
 

THEORY

  • Understanding of the Legislation Surrounding Work at Heights.
  • Understanding of the categories for safety practices for working at heights.
   – Work restraint
   – Work position
   – Fall Arrest
  •  Understand equipment standards.
  • Ability to carry out and understand the importance of pre-use inspection and checks.
  • Understanding the importance of mandatory inspection and record keeping by a competent person.
  • Understanding the implications of suspension trauma from hanging in a harness.
  •  Importance of a timely rescue.
  • Ability to plan and select the proper equipment for a given task.
  • Awareness of hazards related to working at height.
 

PRACTICAL

 Each candidate will be expected to fit and adjust a full body harness.
  • Candidates will learn how to identify different styles of fall protection PPE.
  • Candidates will be expected to know how to identify damage on equipment samples.

 In order to have an effective corporate fall protection program, it is of the utmost importance that the company’s personnel are adequately trained to identify, assess, and control potential fall hazards in their work environment. The management and mitigation of fall hazards require the implementation of a fall protection policy and appropriate training for employees.
